Let’s hope this all goes through ok and hopefully see some friends from up North coming and visiting this beautiful strip next year….

Eddsfield

Possibly... the most beautiful and scenic airfield in Yorkshire.

Eddsfield is one of the “best kept” secrets in Yorkshire. The immaculate grass strip has stunning views from the breathtaking Yorkshire Wolds, it is the local airfield for Scarborough, Bridlington and Driffield. The North York Moors and Great Yorkshire Forest are just a few of the attractions served by the field.  Only five miles away is the internationally renowned Ganton Golf Club. Take a look at the Eddsfield website for up to the minute weather and come and see us, I think you will find why Eddsfield has been kept a secret for so long.

Sheffield Aero Club

The Clubhouse at Netherthorpe is certainly amongst the better facilities seen at airfields in Northern England. We are fully licensed and the kitchen has recently been completely refitted.

The Clubhouse was totally refurbished during 1998 and is open every day of the week during the summer (10am - 11pm) and every day except Mondays during the winter. Excellent meals and snacks are prepared by Paul Mitchell, the steward who runs the facility on our behalf as his own business.

Sherburn Aero Club

Sherburn has been the scene of flying since 1908 and is one of the few airfields to have seen action in both world wars.

Sherburn was the home of the Yorkshire Aeroplane Club which formed in 1909, but did not have a suitable airfield until it was established here on the 10th of January 1926.

Sherburn Aero Club, as it is now, is the largest flying club in the North of England, with over 700 members and a continuous throughput of students.
